Brief Description |
The VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System (VAAAHS) has a large, funded research and development program, including biomedical, clinical, rehabilitation, health services research, and cooperative studies, all of which enhance the facility's ability to provide state-of-the-art medical techniques and treatments to Veteran patients. The Geriatric Research, Education, and Clinical Center (GRECC), one of only 21 in the VA system, conducts basic biomedical research, applied clinical research, and health systems research in the cost and quality of healthcare. The Center for Clinical Management Research, one of 14 Health Services Research and Development Centers of Excellence in the VA, conducts research on clinical practice management issues for those conditions that account for a large proportion of the costs and preventable morbidity and mortality in VHA. |
