Brief Description |
The Philadelphia VA Medical Center houses a mutli-disciplinry research program comprised of approximately 200 projects. The facility houses a Parkinson's Research & Education Center (PADRECC); a mental Mental Illness Research & Education Center (MIRECC), a Center for Health Equity Research & Promotion (CHERP), a VISN 4 Sleep Center, a Pain Management Center, a Nursing Research Program and a basic science program contained within a 60,000 sq. ft. basic science building that includes a small animal research facility. Educational priorities at the facility are expanded patient safety education and outreach programs to help establish PADRECC's at other VA facilities. Most of our PVMC appointed investigators hold an academic appointment at The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine or School of Nursing. |
